RUSSIAN LAKES TRAIL TO LOWER RUSSIAN LAKE, p. 2

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4

(Continued from the last page.)

I showed a few photos with wildflowers along the Russian Lakes Trail on the last page. Here are some of the other flowers we saw, displayed on a separate page so they'll load faster.

I'm fairly certain of their identities but wouldn't bet my life on it! Enjoy.

Above and below:  bunchberries AKA dogwood

Western columbine

Above and below:  mountain cranberry (heath family)

The flowers in the next three photos are prickly roses:

Labrador tea, another member of the heath family

Cow parsnip

Starflower

Arctic wintergreen

Large-leaf avens

A type of arnica?

Wild geranium

Needless to say, this trail is loaded with flowers in the summer. There were more, such as lupines, but I didn't take photos of them because I've got lots of lupine photos already.

Next entrysome of the other activities we did on this July 4th holiday

Happy trails,

Sue
